About Us
The club began in 1940 and celebrated its Diamond Jubilee with an exhibition in Holmfirth Civic Hall.
An Associate Member of the Yorkshire Photographic Union, we participate in their annual exhibition and utilise their other facilities for judging, lectures, print and slide displays.
We have a full calendar of competitions, both internal and inter club, and several members are actively involved in presenting slide shows and talks to many of the local organisations.
A new venture started in 2005 was the Holmfirth Calendar. This proved an initial challenge to the members to produce suitable images of the Holme Valley. It has, however, been a great success and sold well via our members and appreciated assistance from the local Tourist Information Office and the Post Office.
Our members compete at all levels and club nights are always a source for much helpful advice and friendly analysis of each others images. We endeavour to include a degree of educational instruction within our annual syllabus.
